Over 40 Bods that I Would Love To Have

Posted under Fatty Mommy by Fatty40Number2 on Wednesday 14 October 2009 at 6:26 pm

In Holywood 40 is the new 25 & these hot celebs defy gravity & time by looking great all the time. From courtney-cox-2Courtney’s mix of martial arts, yoga, & diet to Elizabeth Hurleys laid back just chase the kids around approach. Every celeb has a secret to staying thin. elizabeth_hurley-2-300x240

However over the years of magazine reading, and special watching of these sought after celeb bodies I realized that all I do by caring what these women look like & how they got that way is make myself feel worse.

I read stories all the time about the next best guru inspired fad that has all of Hollywood looking young, toned, & radiant. I get all jazzed up & then realize that I cannot hire a chef, or a trainer to spend two hours a day with me. Never mind setting aside 2 hours for cardio & an hour of meditation, &  an hour for weights. Hello who is watching their kids when they are doing this, & oh yeah I have a 60 hour a week job, a budget, family, and a life outside of my pant size.

Now I am not saying that these women don’t look amazing. And I am not as dull as to not give credit to their profession & a lifetime supply of whatever product they endorse. If we were in Hollywood I am sure we would have to be doing the same. All I am saying is that for me I was so liberated when I stopped reading those Hollywood’s next best diet adds.  For me it was just one more bar to set that I would never reach. So while I am glad that age is now beautiful on the big screen I challenge all 40+rs to not get caught up in what we preach to our younger counterparts that are all trying to be the next Paris Hilton, or what ever 90lb princess it is this week. Because as silly as that sounds to us we do the same thing trying to have the 40year old Courtney’s arms, or the wrinkle free Andi face.

With age comes beauty, & stretch marks, & wrinkles, & all those things. And unless you can afford a small fortune & a good team of surgeons no Hollywood must have is ever going to make you happy. You must have a healthy lifestyle & be happy with your body first, because to be comfortable in your own skin is just as sexy as a midriff that you can bounce a quarter off of at 52.

We are all beautiful so don’t try to compare…I’m just say’n!

article-1208611-0629BA3F000005DC-565_634x792On Sundays premier of one of my favorite shows-Desperate House Wives we got some more in site into the pregnancy of Lynette & Tom. Personally the sheer thought of getting pregnant again now sends chills down my spine! But I was rolling during the episode when Lynette was in the OB office across from a newly pregnant 20 something.

I tried to find this clip but was unsuccessful & am not tetchy enough to pull it from the full episode :) But if you didn’t catch it Lynette burst the bubble of the newbie mom with a graphic description of the 40’s bod post baby!

Check out the full episode at abc.com if you want to get the full effect, but the line about her boobs resembling balloons you find behind the couch three days after the party, made me whale with laughter!

There really is something to be said about post baby 40’s body that if we knew in it’s entirety we would maybe thought more about adoption!

She really hit it on the head & it was so funny, check it out for yourself & if you did see it, what did you think?

My Husbands Annoying Pound Shedding

Posted under Fatty Mommy by Fatty40Number2 on Saturday 12 September 2009 at 10:39 am

As you know I have been wanting to shed the pounds for quite some time now! I have tried-well just about everything! The other day my husband says to me “honey I need to lose weight” This after he barked at me for shrinking all of his clothes for the past month! What Ev

Not to discourage him I ask “how do you plan on doing it honey, I have 469 books, tapes, & diets you can look through!” Oh no he proceeds to tell me that he is just going to cut back on his eating & do some sit ups & a few push ups here & there. -”Yeah let me know how that works out for ya sweety”, I am thinking!

Well the next day he tells me he as been cutting the extra cheese burger he gets with his Big mac meal out at lunch when he goes out to lunch 2 times a week.  -Ha Ha poor guy how sweet he really thinks that is gonna help!

IT DID! can you believe it??? He does 5 sit ups & cuts out a flipping cheese burger & loses 6 lbs…….6lbs! It takes me a month of sweating, starving, & careful planning to lose 6 lbs :)

Ohhh he is so annoying! I am proud of him but at a time when I can’t seem to lose a pound to save my soul, he decides to join in the fun & of course is better at losing weight than me too!

What’s a girl to do, be happy for her hubby I guess & wish I was a guy for a few weeks so I could shed the weight like that too!

UH OHH

I went to pick up a dress for a wedding that is in three weeks! I had tried it on several weeks prior & was very happy about the flowing design & forgiving waits line.

Well-when it came in & I tried it on, lets just say they failed to tell me the ordered dresses always come in smaller than the ones in the store! There is no fixing this one either! I am going to have to quit eating or find one heck of a seamstress! This is just such a disaster :(

Why can’t I just be skinny & fit into everything like I use to? After kids there just is no going back, how do you de-two kidafy your hips? I’ll never know but I do know these thunder thighs are not fitting into this dress.

So here I go, power work out for three weeks to get into this stupid purple, non flowing, or forgiving, size too small, no time to send back , dress !

Jillian Michaels Drill Sargent

img-funnel-about-jillianJillian’s passion for fitness originates from 17 years of devoted practice in the fields of martials arts, personal training, health and wellness. Best known as the undefeated strength trainer and life coach on NBC’s hit series The Biggest Loser, Jillian is a motivator and role model to nearly 15 million viewers every week.

To me Jillian is SCARY, yeah I said it SCARY! She is amazing that’s for sure , but she is so intimidating it turns me off. So my plan is to stick a picture up on the fridge so I can look at it every time I want to go for the ice cream.

Dancin’ Abs by Jazzercise

Posted under DVDs, Fatty Mommy by Fatty40 on Sunday 16 August 2009 at 12:10 pm

How many of you remember pink tights & hairbands? Ok then you probably remember Jazzercise!

5708s

Well their back & targeting abs….

A fast-paced “dance aerobics” workout that burns fat as it targets your midsection. No need for floor work crunches, these aero/tone intervals tighten your abs using two ultra-motivating techniques. First, the familiar Jazzercise dance moves smoothly blend non-stop ab toning into every motion (e.g. hip swings, pelvic tilts and using your core to control momentum). Second, the program includes some short, all-toning standing segments (e.g. plié squats, side-to-side isometrics). Led by Shanna Missett Nelson, it’s a well-produced, high-energy workout driven by dynamic, pop music-style vocals. Includes lower-impact modifications. Can be done in a small floor space. ©2009. DVD has: 1 premix (32 min. alternate workout), Wide screen.

I found it to bo totally exeptable to put on my lycra, briaded head band, leg warmers & Tina Marie tape after doing this work out!

Posted under Fatty Mommy by Fatty40 on Tuesday 28 July 2009 at 1:43 pm

I just signed my youngest son up for fall soccer. He has been having me help him practice & I think that all the running up & down field has helped me lose some ponds! soccarRemember as kids we never had to work out! try keeping up with your kids of any age. I mean really keep up, not just read a book on the bench (oh me) & I am willing to bet we all get in to hot soccer mom shape:)
